Cilacap Refinery is an Oil Processing Refinery with the highest Avtur production in Indonesia. This refinery has a total capacity of 348 MBPOD with product outputs of Propylene, Benzene, Asphalt, Minarex, Smooth Fluid, Paraxylene, HVO, SAF and Lube Oil Base. The Cilacap Refinery process unit consists of:
Oil Refinery I
Oil Refinery I was built in 1974 with an original capacity of 100,000 barrels/day. Oil Refinery I has been operating since it was inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia on August 24, 1976. In line with increasing consumer needs, in 1998/1999 its capacity was increased through the Debottlenecking project to 118,000 barrels/day.
Oil Refinery II
While Oil Refinery II was built in 1981, with consideration to meet the increasing domestic fuel needs. The refinery, which began operating on August 4, 1983 after being inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, had an initial capacity of 200,000 barrels/day. Then, considering the rate of increase in fuel needs in the country, in line with the capacity increase project (debottlenecking) in 1998/1999, its capacity was also increased to 230,000 barrels/day. This refinery processes "cocktail" oil, namely mixed oil, not only from within the country but also imported from abroad.
Paraxylene Refinery
The Cilacap Paraxylene Refinery was built in 1988 and began operating after being inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia on December 20, 1990. This refinery produces NBM and Petrochemical products with a capacity of 1700 TPD. The considerations for building this refinery were based on the following considerations:
1. The availability of sufficient Naptha raw materials from the Cilacap Oil Refinery II.
2. The availability of supporting facilities in the form of tank docks and utilities.
3. In addition to the opening of market opportunities both domestically and abroad.
Residual Fluid Catalytic Cracking (RFCC) Refinery
The RFCC Project Refinery was built in 2011 and operated after being inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia on September 30, 2015.
This refinery has a capacity of 62 MBSD. The consideration of building this Refinery is based on the following considerations:
1. Utilizing Residual Products with low selling value, into high-value & environmentally friendly BBM products.
2. Reducing Gasoline Imports.
