Kilang Pertamina Internasional Ensures Operations During Christmas and New Year

Jakarta, 20 December 2024 - PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional (KPI) ensures that the 6 refineries it manages will continue to operate optimally during Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025 (Nataru). KPI is ready to synergize with Pertamina Group to jointly maintain the security of fuel supply and be ready to meet the needs of the community throughout Nataru.

"As one of the links in the supply chain for fuel provision in Indonesia, KPI will continue to ensure that refineries can operate optimally so that refinery production is also carried out according to plan," said Hermansyah Y Nasroen, Corporate Secretary of KPI.

Welcoming the Nataru period, said Hermansyah, KPI has prepared strategies and steps to ensure that the production targeted to KPI can be met.

"Just like previous years, we have also prepared ourselves. Arrangements have been made both in terms of managing crude oil as raw material, reliability of equipment and also human resources and ensuring that products produced from the refinery can be distributed to the delivery point at Pertamina Patra Niaga," explained Hermansyah.

KPI said Hermansyah has ensured the availability of crude oil raw materials to be processed during the Nataru period. Currently, the position of total crude oil stock resilience at Pertamina refineries is quite safe, which is 17 days with a processing capacity ready above 1 million barrels per day.

In addition, to ensure that the refinery can operate properly, the reliability aspect is very important to maintain. "We continue to strive to maintain the reliability of the refinery. Several supporting materials that are fast-moving in nature including chemicals have also been well managed with very safe stocks," said Hermansyah.

To support the reliability aspect of the refinery, KPI also ensures that human resources in the operational and non-operational fields work optimally. "We ensure that all our refinery workers are fit to work, one way is by conducting routine daily checkups to ensure that every worker who will work is in a ready-to-work condition," said Hermansyah.

Meanwhile, KPI continues to produce quality and environmentally friendly BBM-Non-BBM products. During the Nataru period on December 14-31, KPI will produce a total of 7.53 million barrels of Gasoline, 11.40 million barrels of Gasoil, 1.75 million barrels of Avtur, and 1.23 million barrels of Marine Fuel Oil Low Sulfur or environmentally friendly ship fuel.

Hermansyah also explained that ensuring the availability of BBM during the Nataru period is a form of Pertamina Group synergy.

"Each entity has its own role and responsibility. KPI on the Refinery side is tasked with ensuring that the refinery operates to produce products according to plan. Colleagues in marketing are then tasked with ensuring that BBM products are distributed to the community according to their needs and designations," explained Hermansyah.

To ensure that all of this runs smoothly, KPI, said Hermansyah, will also activate the Nataru Task Force (Satgas). This task force is not only in the operations unit, but also at the KPI head office and is integrated with Pertamina (Persero).

"This task force is tasked with coordinating and ensuring that the refinery can operate according to target," said Hermansyah.

The Nataru period is usually used as a time to gather with family, but Hermansyah continued, each worker at KPI has realized their responsibilities.

Hermansyah also expressed his gratitude for the support of stakeholders for the smooth operation of the refinery. "Without the support of stakeholders, we would definitely have difficulty in running the refinery operations. Thank you for the support given by all parties. Hopefully we can continue to collaborate and synergize," concluded Hermansyah.

KPI is a subsidiary of Pertamina that runs its main business of oil and petrochemical processing in accordance with the principles of ESG (Environment, Social & Governance). KPI has also registered with the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) and is committed to the Ten Universal Principles or Ten Principles of UNGC in its operational strategy as part of the implementation of ESG aspects. KPI will continue to run its business professionally to realize its vision of becoming a world-class Oil Refinery and Petrochemical Company that is environmentally aware, socially responsible and has good corporate governance.
