Global Market Expansion, KPI and PIMD Continue Synergy Through "Master Sales & Purchase Agreement"
Jakarta, 6 January 2025 – Kilang Pertamina Internasional (KPI) and Pertamina International Marketing & Distribution Pte. Ltd. (PIMD) have taken strategic steps to market quality and environmentally friendly refinery products to the global market. At the end of 2024, the two companies officially strengthened their cooperative relationship to synergize in marketing and increasing the added value of Pertamina's refinery products in the international market through the signing of the "Master Sales & Purchase Agreement" (MPSA) which will underlie the sustainability of the synergistic relationship until 2027.
In this collaboration, KPI plays a role in providing the main components needed by PIMD in running the bunkering business. This agreement is an extension of the previous agreement, with the addition of several new schemes, including Profit Sharing, Swap, and Project Blending.
The collaboration between KPI and PIMD has been established for 3 years from 2021 to 2024 where PIMD plays a role in marketing refinery products in the international market. During that period, no less than 16 million barrels of refinery products have been marketed abroad. These products include "Marine Fuel Oil Low Sulfur" (environmentally friendly ship fuel), decant oil, benzene, propylene, green coke, vacuum residue, paraxylene.
President Director of Kilang Pertamina Internasional, Taufik Aditiyawarman said that KPI is ready to continue producing high-quality hydrocarbon products to the international market which will provide added value to the company and the country.
"This collaboration shows our commitment to continue innovating and expanding the global market. We appreciate PIMD for its dedication in marketing refinery products to the international market," said Taufik Aditiyawarman, President Director of Kilang Pertamina Internasional (KPI).
The MPSA ceremony was also attended by Riva Siahaan, President Director of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga and Aditya Budi Prabowo, Managing Director of Pertamina International Marketing & Distribution.
With the MPSA, both companies are increasingly prepared to face challenges in the global market, optimize the potential of their resources, and make a positive contribution to the Indonesian economy.
